Esa-Pekka Salonen’s new work for orchestra „Nyx“ will have its world premiere on 19 February 2011 during the final concert of Festival Présences Paris. The piece was commissioned by Radio France, Carnegie Hall, Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, Barbican Centre and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. Salonen himself will be conducting the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.
This premiere performance will be available online from 21 February on Radio France and ArteLiveWeb.
In a cycle of 13 concerts between 3 and 19 February 2011 the festival focuses on Salonen’s compositions and performs all of his main works as well as other significant works of the 20th century.
