esapekkasalonen: @leifpagrotsky Det är en avskalad, enkel och ren men sensuell produktion tycker jag. Väldigt starka reaktioner hos publiken oftast.

Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Philharmonia Orchestra London have just released a new recording of Mahler’s Symphony No. 6 on Signum. The CD is a live recording of a concert at the Royal Festival Hall London in May 2009.
Sometimes known as “The Tragic” – a title suggested but then withdrawn by the composer – Mahler’s Sixth Symphony embodies much of the inner turmoil and superstition of its composer.
Esa-Pekka Salonen’s work with the Philharmonia for the “City of Dreams: Vienna 1900-1935” concert series has produced a number of powerful, live concert recordings, including Schoenberg’s “Gurrelieder”, Berlioz’s “Symphony Fantastique” and Mahler’s Symphony No. 9 which have been released on Signum since 2009.
